OBSERVING & EVENT SCHEDULE

DENVER

Denver Museum of Nature and Science

Museum and Space Odyssey interactive exhibits- Regular 9 am to 5 pm schedule. (Please note that Gates Planetarium is closed for renovation.)

Daytime Solar Observing on the West Patio at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science (safe Hydrogen Alpha, White light and Calcium Solar telescopes operated by members of the Denver Astronomical Society, along with a Solar Spectrograph display) (West Patio, outside the Leprino Family Atrium, Level 1, 11 am to 3 pm)

Denver Astronomical Society - Interested in joining a local astronomy club or finding our about the stars you can see from your backyard? The DAS is here to answer your questions.  (Level 1, 10 am - 4 pm)

A.T.O.M. (Active Teens of the Museum) Air & Space Club - Are you a teen?  Do you love astronomy? Find out how to get involved in this or other teen programs at the Museum (Level 1, 10 am - 4 pm)

Planetary Society - The Planetary Society is dedicated to inspiring the public with the adventure and mystery of space exploration and the search for extraterrestrial life. (Level 1, 10 am - 4 pm)

Regular museum admission rates apply. No additional cost for special astronomy day activities.

Viewing of the crescent moon, Jupiter, Uranus, the crescent Moon,  and favorite deep sky objects such as star clusters and nebulae through the 113 year-old 20-in Alvan Clark-Saegmuller telescope, the 12th largest refractor telescope in the country. We will also have over 30 amateur telescopes of various sizes and types in Observatory Park, with knowledgeable operators who will be happy to show you requested objects and answer your questions about astronomy, astronomical equipment, and celestial objects and events.

Tito Salas, Fiske Operations Manager, will present a live "Star Chat" ("Charla de las Estrellas") in Spanish afterward.

Daytime public observing of the Sun through filtered 11-inch and 4.25-inch telescopes. Giant 400-foot solar system model for the kids. Nighttime observing with 12.5-inch, 11-inch and 4.25-inch telescopes.
